There are few things more enjoyable than troubleshooting a 100-foot Socapex cable with a multimeter while everyone waits for you.
The CYA Cables ST-1 is built to make that process considerably less painful. Connect the male and female testing units to an unpowered 19-pin Socapex cable, press the button, and the color LCD shows the condition of every conductor in less than two seconds.
The ST-1 can identify opens, shorts and swapped conductors, indicate whether the cable has a ground ring, and even retain an indication of an intermittent short after the fault clears — particularly useful for those cables that magically start working the second you begin troubleshooting them.

The kit includes the male and female ST-1 units, a padded hard case, USB-C charging cable and instruction card. The tester uses a rechargeable LiPo battery and is currently priced at $499. CYA also offers accessory testing bricks and bundles for checking PowerCON and TRUE1 fanouts.
It’s a very specialized tool — but if your shop owns a pile of Socapex, it’s the kind of specialized tool that could earn its spot in the test bench pretty quickly.
Because “try another Soca” isn’t really a diagnostic procedure.
